It seems the only argument in this story is money.
All of the crops mentioned are from somewhere else far away in the world. Unless these berries are the same price as tomatoes and potatoes, I don't think they'll harm the farm balance in the long run.
I'm pretty skeptical about all the claims about "wonder foods", anyways. All the toolmarks of the Hype Factory are all over Goji berries
