Organic not affordable? I'd have to disagree. My family participates in community supported agriculture (csa) and it was $435 for 22 weeks worth of organic vegetables and produce. We'll receive a weekly box of produce that tends to last us all week. That ends up being $19.77 a week for something like this:

½# salad mix, 1 Red Romaine lettuce, 1 bunch carrots from Groundwork Farm, 3# German Butterball potatoes, ½# garlic whistles, 1 bunch Red Chard, 1 head fresh garlic, 1 basket Strawberries

I agree. I try to buy organic as often as possible - but considering I am a starving college student with about $2 to my name - it doesn't happen as often as I'd like :(

I eat organic every day. You may think it tough. but, I have no health insurance except to take care and eat properly. so, what I do not pay into our ridiculous health care system, I spend in quality food.

If I had a yard, I'd be growing my own food for sure. And, this make it very affordable. IN the pots I have outside my door, I grow tomatoe, red pepper and herbs. I managed to also plant pineapple and papaya.

It's ideal to grow your own...
